42 Inch Plasma Hdtv

The Birth Of The 42 Inch Plasma Hdtv

The 42 inch plasma hdtv is one of the most affordable of the large screen, plasma televisions.  This television was the start of a craze that has come nowhere near the end of its life, the thin television profile craze and the hang it on the wall craze. The 42 inch plasma hdtv was the first of the large screen televisions that were small, light weight, and still provided the excellent service and performance that one expects from the television set.  Perfect; almost.  There were some very serious setbacks to the 42 inch plasma hdtv that have cost the plasma industry its popularity and market.

The 42 inch plasma hdtv came onto the market along with the other plasma televisions.  These plasma televisions cost significantly more than the older style projection televisions but offered something wonderful in turn, light weight and small depth.  The 42 inch plasma hdtv is the smallest of the large screen televisions and therefore the most affordable of this range.  The cost of the 42 inch plasma hdtv was almost double that of the projection television model of the same size back then.

The 42 inch plasma hdtv started a trend, a craze if one may, that has revolutionized the television market.  The plasma hdtv offered the customer the chance to carry a large screen television out of the store and do something amazing, hang it on a wall.  This was the start of an amazing race for all of the companies to be the thinnest and lightest of the televisions.  The plasma television was the first, and has already won that battle.

Despite giving up a lot of size, all of the bulbs and lacking a tube, the picture quality that is seen on the plasma hdtv is beyond one of the best picture qualities on the market.  When this picture quality is paired with the hdtv programming that is offered by almost every carrier, the experience is truly amazing.  It is almost as though one is right there, in the picture.  When this was introduced, the effect was amazing.  Now it is more commonplace, but at one time, this was beyond believing.

There are some very harsh realities about the plasma hdtv though.  The first of these realities that bring the perfect television crashing back to earth is that the television is very difficult to repair.  The cost to repair the television is often more than that of buying a new television.  There is also the fragility of the product.  The slightest brush of the wrong material or wrong direction, wrong pressure, can cause irreversible damage to the screen that causes the television picture quality to diminish.  A slight knock on the sides of the television or to the face/back of the television can cause the television to fatally malfunction.  These difficulties paired with the high price of the 42 inch hdtv almost caused the product to immediately fail.  Luckily for all, it did not and the skinny is in craze has hit the television market.
